A key route in and out of Bugbrooke has been closed since September 2024 following years of repair delays. Despite West Northants Council spending over £200,000 on temporary measures, no permanent repairs have been carried out.
While the bridge itself remains structurally sound, the issue lies with the road approaches, which WNC has repeatedly failed to budget for. Traffic is now forced onto fragile roads like Birds Hill, which is literally cracking under the pressure, and flooding often cuts off other routes, leaving Bugbrooke vulnerable.
